First Stop: Kera Kardiotissa Monastery
Our journey begins at the peaceful Kera Kardiotissa Monastery, nestled in the Dikti Mountains. This 14th-century monastery is lovingly maintained by local nuns and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Known by locals as "Little Lourdes", the site is a spiritual haven where people come to pray for healing and peace. The church features exquisite Byzantine frescoes and sacred icons.

Lasithi Plateau – Windmills & Village Life
We then ascend to the Lasithi Plateau, a fertile highland plain dotted with thousands of traditional windmills. According to some theories, this area may have once been an ancient volcanic crater. Surrounded by the Dikti Mountains, the plateau is home to several small, welcoming villages where time seems to stand still.
Discover the Greek Mythology Park
In the heart of the plateau, we visit the Greek Mythology Park — a fascinating and fun stop that brings the legends of ancient Greece to life. Learn about Zeus, Hera, the Titans, and the Olympian gods, all presented in an engaging and family-friendly environment. A great introduction to Greek mythology for all ages.
Traditional Pottery & Lunch Stop
As we travel through the villages of Lasithi, we make a short stop at a traditional pottery workshop, where artisans still practice a ceramic craft that dates back over 8,000 years. Watch a live demonstration and see how ancient techniques are used to create timeless Cretan art.
We then stop at a local tavern in one of the villages for a relaxing lunch break with optional traditional dishes (meal not included).
Scenic Drive & Return
On our way back, enjoy panoramic views across the Pediada Plain, one of Crete’s most fertile and beautiful landscapes. You'll return feeling enriched by culture, history, and authentic Cretan hospitality.
